Drayton Manor prepares for farm conference
Drayton Manor theme park in Tamworth, Staffordshire, will host the National Farm Attractions Network's (NFAN) Annual Conference & Trade Exhibition on 10 February 2010.
The one-day event will include a number of talks, workshops and seminars as well as a trade exhibition.
The keynote speaker at this year's conference is Richard Benyon, the Conservative shadow minister for agriculture.
A key panel session of the day will concentrate on health and safety issues. The panel for the session, titled "Attraction Regulators - The Debate!", will include Richard Oatway, manager of Godstone Farm and Playbarn, which was forced to close for more than a month due to an E.coli outbreak last year.
There will also be fringe workshops on setting up farm attractions and marketing, while Emma Penny, editor of Farmers Guardian, will offer her views on how to benefit from media exposure.
The NFAN is an independent national co-operative organisation for leisure and tourism attraction businesses within the countryside. Details: www.farmattractions.net
